Average Weekly Earnings

Average weekly earnings (including overtime) is a measure of the average weekly income, per employee, at a point in time. It is an indicator of short-term changes in earnings, which can be indicative of consumption patterns. Wages also represent a large portion of business expenses and provide an indication of cost competitiveness among multiple jurisdictions.

Highlights

  • In July 2024, Saskatchewan's average weekly earnings (seasonally adjusted) were $1,217.71, ranking fifth among provinces in terms of value. Nationally, the average was $1,267.54.
  • Saskatchewan's average weekly earnings increased by 3.7% from July 2023 to July 2024. Nationally, earnings increased by 4.5%.
