Average Weekly Earnings

Average weekly earnings (including overtime) is a measure of the average weekly income, per employee, at a point in time. It is an indicator of short-term changes in earnings, which can be indicative of consumption patterns. Wages also represent a large portion of business expenses and provide an indication of cost competitiveness among multiple jurisdictions.

Highlights

  • In September 2021, Saskatchewan's average weekly earnings were $1,114.29, the fifth-highest among provinces in terms of value. Nationally, the average was $1,136.61.
    • Saskatchewan's average weekly earnings increased by 1.5% from September 2020 to September 2021. Nationally, earnings increased by 2.6%.
