Farm Cash Receipts

Farm cash receipts measure the cash paid to farmers for the sale of their agricultural products and from direct program payments to producers. Farm cash receipts signal the agricultural sector's contribution to the gross domestic product and showcase the purchasing power of farmers in Saskatchewan.

Fourth Quarter 2023 vs. Fourth Quarter 2022

  • In the second quarter of 2024, total farm cash receipts in Saskatchewan increased by 5.9% to $4.1B, compared to the same period in 2023. During this period, crop receipts had no percentage change, reaching $3.2B, livestock receipts increased by 22.4%, to $806M, and program payments increased by 91.6%, to 176.6M, compared to the same period in 2023.
