Farm Cash Receipts

Farm cash receipts measure the cash paid to farmers for the sale of their agricultural products and from direct program payments to producers. Farm cash receipts signal the agricultural sector's contribution to the gross domestic product and showcase the purchasing power of farmers in Saskatchewan.

Highlights

First Quarter 2019 vs. First Quarter 2018:

  • In the first quarter of 2019, total farm cash receipts in Saskatchewan increased by 4.5% to $4.3B, compared to the same period in 2018. During this period, crop receipts increased by 4.6%, to reach $3.6B, livestock receipts decreased by 2.6%, to $537.8M, and program payments increased by 48.1%, to reach $119.8M, compared to the same period in 2018.
