Farm Cash Receipts

Farm cash receipts measure the cash paid to farmers for the sale of their agricultural products and from direct program payments to producers. Farm cash receipts signal the agricultural sector's contribution to the gross domestic product and showcase the purchasing power of farmers in Saskatchewan.

Highlights

First Quarter 2021 vs. First Quarter 2020

  • In the first quarter of 2021, total farm cash receipts in Saskatchewan increased by 24.4% to $5.3B, compared to the same period in 2020. During this period, crop receipts increased by 31.7%, to reach $4.7B, livestock receipts decreased by 4.4%, to $498.8M, and program payments decreased by 42.8%, to reach $94.4M, compared to the same period in 2020.
