New Motor Vehicle Sales

New motor vehicle sales is a measure of the number of new motor vehicles sold, including: trucks, vans, coaches, buses, minivans, sport utility vehicles, and other passenger cars. It is an indicator of consumer spending and is closely tied to consumer confidence. The decision to purchase a vehicle showcases individual's outlook about the current and expected future state of the economy.

Highlights

  • On a seasonally-unadjusted basis, New Motor Vehicle Sales in Saskatchewan increased by 2.2% from 4,054 in June 2020 to 4,143 in June 2021. Saskatchewan ranked seventh in percentage change among the provinces. The national average increased by 3.0%.
